04-19-11 Traffic stop leads officers to quarter-pound of marijuana; BPD daily incident report

Arrested: Brandon A. Hernandez, 30, Boise
Charged: Possession of Marijuana with intent to deliver (F)

Boise Police officers on patrol last night shortly after 8:00 p.m. witnessed the driver of a Dodge Neon fail to use the turn signal to change lanes near Emerald and Roosevelt Streets. Officers turned around and soon saw the car stopped in front of a home on the 4200 blk of W. Fairmont Street. Officers approached the driver, later identified Brandon A. Hernandez. During the stop, a Boise Police drug detection dog, Kamo alerted on the trunk of the car. The suspect allowed officers access to the trunk, where they found what appeared to be approximately a quarter pound of marijuana in a box.  The suspected marijuana was packaged in multiple clear plastic baggies that contained different amounts of the substance. Officers field tested the substance, which tested positive for marijuana and measured a total package weight of 229 grams. The suspect was arrested on the above charge and booked into the Ada County Jail.
