BPD bike officer witnesses drug sale in park and makes arrests; Weekend incident report

  Arrested: James W. Zaske, 32, Boise

   Charges:Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(F)

  Arrested: Edgar R. Lockwood, 56, Boise

   Charges:Providing False Information (m), Frequenting a Place where Drugs are Used/Sold (m), Probation violation charges

   A Boise Police officer on bicycle patrol observed a drug transaction taking place in Rhodes park, 1555 west Front street, Friday, April 1st, at approximately 1:30 p.m. The officer observed the two men, later identified as Zaske and Lockwood exchange a baggie of marijuana and cash across a table in plain sight. The officer, having interrupted the exchange when he rode up to the table, made contact with the suspects. Officers recovered three baggies packaged for sale containing a combined total of approximately 10 grams of marijuana and a small amount of cash. During the course of the investigation Edgar Lockwood provided false identifying information to officers resulting in the additional misdemeanor charge. The suspects were booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Charlie F. Fleck, 32, Nampa

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Possession of an Open Container (m)

  Boise Police received a citizen call of a possible drunk driver at a gas station on the 10000 block of west Ustick early this morning, April 4th, just after midnight. Officers located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the gas station with the engine running and the driver slumped over the wheel. Officers also observed an open can of beer in the vehicle. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .24/.23 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Ada County records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

 Arrested: Douglas J. Thompson, 20, Meridian

  Charges:Aggravated Battery (F), Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 300 block of north Milwaukee Friday, April 1st, at approximately 4:00 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal items and then leave the store without paying for them. Store loss prevention employees attempted to detain the suspect and a struggle took place. During the struggle, employees tell police the suspect fell on top of one of the employees causing damage to the employees arm. The employee was transported to a local hospital for non life threatening injuries. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft, resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Alec C. Wray, 23, Boise

   Charges:Possession of a Controlled Substance (Prescription Medications)(F), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)(m)

  Boise Police on patrol observed a bicycle rider fail to yield to a red light and travelling at night with no lighting on the bike at Alliance and Five Mile Friday evening, April 1st, at approximately 11:30 p.m. As officers contacted the rider, he told the officers he had a knife and consented to a search of his person. Officers recovered a container with approximately 8 prescription medication pills and approximately 3 grams total package weight of marijuana. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Carol M. Vandeberg, 28, Boise

   Charges: Forgery (F)

  Arrested: Heather A. Royall, 38, Boise

   Charges: Forgery (F), Failure to Appear Warrant (m)

  Arrested: James L. Royall, 42, Boise

   Charges: Forgery (F), Failure to Appear Warrant (m)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a fraud in progress at a bank on the 7400 block of west Emerald Friday, April 1st, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Employees tell police the suspect, later identified as Carol Vandeberg was inside the store attempting to cash forged checks. Two additional suspects, later identified as Heather Royall and James Royall where outside waiting in a car. The suspect vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived. Boise Police located the suspect vehicle minutes later in a nearby parking lot and after a detailed investigation all 3 suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

 Arrested: Colleen R. Mask, 35, Boise

  Charges:Burglary (F), Arrest Warrant for Burglary (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 100 block of east Myrtle Sunday, April 3rd, at approximately 6:00 p.m. Store employees tell police they witnessed the suspect conceal items and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft, resulting in the burglary charge. A check through Ada County records indicates the suspect also had an outstanding arrest warrant for burglary on a prior occasion. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

 Arrested: Michelle J. Navarro, 47, Boise

  Charges:Burglary (F), Trespassing (m)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 8200 block of West Fairview Friday, April 1st, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Store employees tell police they witnessed the suspect conceal items and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft, resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect had been trespassed from the store for a prior incident resulting in the additional trespass charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
