Officers arrest man for Assault with a pitchfork; Daily incident report

03-04-11 Officers arrest man for Assault with a pitchfork; Daily incident report

  Arrested: Andrew A. Gallegos, 58, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Assault (F)

    Boise Police responded to an incident on the 100 block of east Front yesterday, March 3rd, at approximately 6:30 p.m. The victim tells police the suspect, a neighbor in the complex, was banging on the door of their apartment. When the victim answered the doorhe says the suspect was screaming and threatened him with a large pitchfork. The victim tells police he locked the suspect out of the apartment. Officers arrived and located the suspect, later identified as Andrew Gallegos, in a nearby hallway and recovered the pitchfork from his apartment. The reason for the assault is unclear and appears to be isolated at this time. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY18-905.Aggravated assault defined.An aggravated assault is an assault: (a)  With a deadly weapon or instrument without intent to kill; or (b)  By any means or force likely to produce great bodily harm.

    Arrested: Katie J. Bowen, 29, Boise

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F), Driving Without Privileges (DWP)(m)

  Boise Police observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the bicycle lane and speeding as it travelled north on Cole early this morning, March 4th, at approximately 1:00 a.m. Officers stopped the driver at Cole and Franklin. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .18/.19 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Ada County records indicated the suspect was currently suspended form driving. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

 Warrant Arrested: Kayla L. Briggs, 22, Boise

  Warrant Charges: Grand Theft (F)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Grand Theft yesterday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into a counterfeit check used to defraud a local bank of funds that took place in June of 2010. Evidence indicates the suspect deposited the check into a bank account and then made purchases or withdrawals to obtain cash totaling more than $2,000 dollars. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

 Warrant Arrested: Rudy C. Garza, 47, Boise

  Warrant Charges:Possession of a Controlled Substance (F)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance yesterday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the possession of meth on January 14th of this year. On that date, emergency personnel responded to a bicycle crash in the alley between 17th and 18th streets near Bannock. Officers who responded to assist located a small amount of Meth and other paraphernalia on the cyclist, suspect Garza. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

 Warrant Arrested: Summer M. Whiterock, 22, Caldwell

  Warrant Charges:Burglary (F)

    The suspect self surrendered and was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary yesterday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the theft of merchandise from a retail store on the 400 block of Milwaukee in September of 2009. Evidence indicates the suspect concealed merchandise and exited the store with the intent to steal the items. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
