    Arrested: Gregory A. Hubbard, 27, Boise

    Charges:Aggravated Driving Under the Influence (F), Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident (F), Battery (m)

  Boise Police responded to a report of a person struck by a vehicle at a residence on the 6400 block of West Douglas last night, March 1st, at approximately 11:00 p.m. Witnesses tell police the driver of the suspect vehicle dropped of a passenger at the home. As the passenger got out of the pickup the two men began physically fighting at the drivers side door. Witnesses tell police the suspect driver quickly backed up his vehicle, running over the victim's foot. Witnesses describe both men as very intoxicated at the time of the incident. 

    Minutes later officers responded to a 911 call indicating a fight in progress at a residence on the 9900 block of West Lupine. Officers determined the suspect had battered an adult male victim at the home and identified him as the same suspect involved in the hit and run earlier the same evening. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Hubbard, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time of his arrest and failed several field sobriety tests. Officers charged Hubbard with Aggravated felony DUI due to evidence he left the scene of an inury accident while intoxicated. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 80 MOTOR VEHICLES18-8007.Leaving scene of accident resulting in injury or death.(1) The driver of any vehicle that has been involved in an accident, either upon public or private property open to the public, who knows or has reason to know that said accident has resulted in injury to or death of any person shall: (a)  Immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident or as close thereto as possible. Every stop required under this section shall be made without obstructing traffic more than is necessary. (b)  Remain at the scene of the accident until the driver has fulfilled all the requirements under this section. (c)  Give his name, address, the name of his insurance agent or company if he has automobile liability insurance, and the motor vehicle registration number of the vehicle he is driving to the person struck, or to the driver or occupant of or person attending any vehicle collided with. (d)  If available, exhibit his driver's license to the person struck, or to the driver or occupant of or person attending any vehicle collided with (e)  Render to any person injured in the accident reasonable assistance, including the conveying or the making of arrangements for the conveying of such person to a physician, surgeon, hospital or other medical facility, for medical or surgical treatment, if it is apparent that such treatment is necessary or if such conveying is requested by the injured person.(2)  A violation of any provision of this section shall constitute a felony and be punished by a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000) or by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for a period of not more than five (5) years, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

  Arrested: Zachary M. Pehringer, 23, Boise

   Charges: Grand Theft (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Resisting and Obstructing (m), Failure to Appear Warrant (m), Probation Violation charges, Parole violation Warrant

    Boise Police received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on the 1700 block of Harvey on January 24th at approximately 6:00 a.m. On that date, reports indicate the vehicle had been left running with the keys inside when it was stolen. The vehicle was recovered later that day in a gas station parking lot in Nampa. After a detailed investigation officers determined Zachary Pehringer may have been involved in the vehicle theft. Pehringer also had a current warrant for his arrest on Failure to Appear charges.

     Officers located Pehringer yesterday, March 1st, in the parking lot of a hotel on the 5400 block of West Fairview. As officers approached the suspect he fled on foot. Officers gave several verbal commands to stop and Pehringer refused to comply. At one point an officer grabbed the suspects jacket. The suspect was able to pull out of the jacket and continued to run westbound across the parking lot. During the chase the suspect dropped a glass marijuana smoking device. A Boise Police K-9 was deployed. The K9 caught up to the suspect and bite him on the leg which stopped him from running. The suspect was taken into custody, cleared medically and booked into the Ada County Jail on the above charges.

    Arrested: Diane D. Lovejoy

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

  Boise Police responded to a citizen report of an intoxicated driver who had arrived at a residence on the 2600 block of West Bella Street yesterday, March 1st, at approximately 5:30 p.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect had driven to the home in an intoxicated state. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time officers arrived, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .18/.19 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Ada County records indicated the suspect had two prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

 Warrant Arrested: John L. Waller, 33, Boise

  Warrant Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance yesterday.

   The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the possession of a small amount of Meth at a residence on the 2300 block of Panama on October 8th of last year. On that date officers responded to a report of an overdose at the home and located a small amount of meth. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

  Arrested: Mitchell R. Smith, 22, Boise

   Charges: Grand Theft (F), Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card (F)

    Boise Police received a report of a theft on February 28th from the victim who lives in Boise. The victim tells police several withdraws had been made on her bank account resulting in a loss of more than $3,000 dollars starting on February 7th. Yesterday, March 1st, Boise Police property crimes detectives contacted Mitchell Smith. After a detailed investigation officers obtained evidence that due to his acquaintance with the victim, the suspect had access to the victim's home and had taken and fraudulently used the victim's credit cards. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

 Arrested: Anh P. Huynh, 25, Boise

  Charges:Burglary (F)

  Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 300 block of North Milwaukee yesterday, March 1st, at approximately 4:30 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal several clothing items and then attempt to leave the store without paying. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the felony burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  The Boise Police Department has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the Boise Police Retail Crime Unit is to reduce retail theft and fraud, which impacts cunsumer prices.
