02-23-11 Officers ask public's help in locating witness

    Boise, Feb 23, 2011 - Boise Police are looking for a man who may have information critical to an ongoing investigation involving a series of physical assaults reported by several women within the Boise area over the past two years.  

    An attempted assault on a woman was reported near Winstead Park July 15, 2009 between 1 and 2:00 a.m. Recently, detectives found similarities in that incident that lead them to believe the case may be connected to the above referenced series of assaults.

    Officers have identified a possible witness in the Winstead Park incident. The witness was seen leaving the park on Northview Street just west of Curtis Road prior to the reported attempted assault. This witness may have seen something or someone that could help detectives solve the crime.

    Witness description: The witness is described as a light skinned male adult, late 50's, 5'3', 175 lbs, bulky build (body builder type) with a shaved head.  

    Witness Vehicle: The witness was driving a mid-80's full size pick-up with silver / blue oxidized paint and a tan camper shell. This person also had with hin a medium sized white dog with brown spots.

A citizen can remain anonymous. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered by Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest of criminal suspects.
