Boise Police were called Sunday morning at 3:23 a.m. by a man reporting a burglary that just occurred in Boise's north end, at a home just west of W. Hill Road and Harrison Blvd. Investigating officers found no forced entry into the home. However, the resident told officers he was sleeping on the sofa when the sound of drawers opening and closing woke him up. He went to a back bedroom where he confronted a man wearing a grey hoodie and dark pants. The victim says upon being discovered, the burglar punched the victim in the face and ran from the home down a nearby alley. The victim chased the suspect for a short distance, but returned home and called police. Officers did an immediate search of the area but were unable to find the suspect. Working with the victim, officers were able to find the burglar took a significant amount of jewelry from the home before he was discovered.

Further investigation revealed a potential suspect, a former acquaintance of the homeowner. Officers located the suspect and after questioning him Monday, Feb. 1st. Following questioning, the suspect was arrested on the above charges.
