Car into McDonalds - 3 taken to hospital with minor injuries

02-21-11 Car into McDonalds - 3 taken to hospital with minor injuries

Boise, Feb. 21, 2011 - Boise Police are on scene of a car crash into the McDonalds restaurant on the 500 blk of N. Orchard reported at 12:55 p.m.

Officers on scene say the driver of an SUV was pulling into the parking lot and attempting to park in a space in front of the restaurant's entrance. She tells officers her foot accidentally slipped off the brake and she accelerated, driving 10 - 12 feet through the glass doors and into the building.

Three customers of the restaurant, all reported to be elderly, in their 70's and 80's have been taken to a nearby hospital for what officers on scene say appear to be very minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a Boise woman in her 80's, and her passenger, a male in his 80's were not hurt.

At this time, because of the evidence and that the crash is on private property, officers do not expect to cite the driver. However, officers will send their report to prosectors for review.
