Charges: Aggravated Battery (F), Aggravated Assault (F), Domestic Violence (m), Interruption of a Telecommunication Device (Phone)(m), Unlawful Entry (m), Probation Violation charges

Boise Police responded to multiple reports of a fight at a residence on the Boise bench yesterday, January 17th, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Officers located the suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, inside a neighbors apartment involved in a physical fight. Officers took Michael Bertschy into custody. The victim tells police he had been involved in an argument with the suspect, who is known to him, earlier in the evening. The suspect returned to his apartment in a highly intoxicated state and became involved in a domestic fight with a female occupant, resulting in the domestic violence charge. At this point, the neighbor says he called police. The victim tells officers the suspect then came to his apartment and knocked down the door to gain entry, resulting in the unlawful entry charge, before attacking him. At one point, witnesses say the suspect ripped the phone from the victims hands and placed him in a choke hold, resulting in the Aggravated Battery charge. Police arrived moments later. A check through Ada County Records indicated the suspect had 2 outstanding warrants for his arrest on Probation Violation charges. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
