12-13-10 Two unrelated Aggravated Assault calls end in arrests; weekend incident report

  Arrested: Carlos G. Figueroa, 43, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Assault (F)

    Boise Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in East Boise Saturday, December 11th, at approximately 10:00 p.m. The victim, an adult male, tells police the suspect began arguing with him in the kitchen. The suspect produced a knife and attempted to stab the victim. The man retreated to a bedroom as the suspect stabbed the door repeatedly, according to the victim. Officers located the suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, in another room of the residence and took him into custody. No one was injured. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS CHAPTER 9 ASSAULT AND BATTERY 18-905.Aggravated assault defined.An aggravated assault is an assault:
(a)  With a deadly weapon or instrument without intent to kill; or (b)  By any means or force likely to produce great bodily harm.

  Arrested: Michael B. Marks, 28, Boise

   Charges: Aggravated Assault (F)

    Boise Police responded to a fight with a weapon at a residence near Cole and Franklin Friday, December 11th, at approximately 3:00 a.m. Dispatch received additional calls from witnesses as they responded to the scene, indicating the suspect had approached a neighbors door with a weapon. Victims tell police that when they answered their door the suspect cursed and yelled at them to be quiet, while holding a rifle in a threatening manner. Officers located the suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, in his own residence and took him into custody without incident. No one was injured. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Cole D. Lang, 35, Boise

   Charges:Possession of a Controlled substance (Meth)(F) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

    Boise Police on patrol observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn Friday, December 10th, at approximately 1:30 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop at Curtis and Franklin. As officers contacted the driver, a Boise Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle and the suspect revealed a plastic baggie containing a small amount of Meth, scales and several syringes. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

 Warrant Arrested: Paul R. Reader, 21, Boise

  Warrant Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

    The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for the above listed charges Sunday.

   The arrest warrants stem from an ongoing investigation into drugs and paraphernalia located in a home on the 300 block of south Roosevelt street in August of this year. Officers later determined the illegal items belonged to the suspect. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

    Arrested: Ronald H. Davies, 49, Boise

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

  Boise Police responded to a collision on the 1100 block of Vista Friday, December 10th, at approximately 5:30 p.m. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time was a driver involved in the incident. The suspect failed several field sobriety tests and a blood draw was performed for later evidentiary testing. A check through Ada County records indicated the suspect had 2 prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Brandon E. Hempleman, 23, Boise

   Charges: Battery on an Officer (F), Resisting and Obstructing (m)

    Boise Police were involved in an investigation of a battery that took place at 6th and Main early Sunday morning, December 12th, at approximately 2:30 a.m. As officers conducted that investigation, the suspect, later identified as Brandon Hempleman, was given repeated commands to back away. The suspect, who was very intoxicated at the time, refused to back away and began running into officers with his chest. Officers again instructed the suspect to back away. The suspect again rammed into an officer with his chest. Officers attempted to take the suspect into custody for obstruction when the man elbowed an officer in the face. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

 Arrested: Robin L. Cramer, 49, Boise

  Charges:Grand Theft (F)

   Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 800 block of West Fort Sunday, December 12th, at approximately 7:00 p.m. Store employees tell police they witnessed the suspect fill a shopping cart with items and then leave the store through a back door without paying for them. The value of the items taken exeeded $1,000.00. Employees stopped the suspect and detained her until police arrived. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

   The Boise Police have developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.

 Arrested: Dominick S. Nevarez, 18, Boise

  Charges:Grand Theft (F)

   Boise Police responded to a request for assistance from loss prevention employees at a retail store on the 500 block of North Milwaukee Saturday, December 11th, at approximately 2:00 p.m. Store employees tell police they have evidence that the suspect, an employee at the time, had stolen approximately $500 dollars from the company over the last few weeks. After a detailed investigation the suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
