Charges:Grand Theft (F), Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(m), Leaving the Scene of an Accident (m)

Boise Police responded to a report of a hit and run early yesterday morning (October 25th) at approximately 4:30 a.m. in a parking lot at Oakland and Beacon Streets. Witnesses tell police the vehicle had run a red light at a high rate of speed before losing control, going off the roadway into the parking lot and striking the pole. The witness tells police the suspect then exited the vehicle and began walking away. Officers located the driver minutes later on foot at the corner of Highland and Mainitou Streets. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .13/.16 at the Ada County Jail. Officers determined the vehicle had been taken without the owners permission earlier that night resulting in the Grand Theft charge. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
