Bus driver Cited in Collision

10-11-10 Bus driver Cited in Collision

Boise, Oct. 11, 2010 - Boise Police cited a school bus driver for inattentive driving after the bus rear-ended a pick up truck on Maple Grove this afternoon. One child plus an adult rider were on the bus with the driver. Neither the child nor the two adults in the bus were hurt.

What Happened: Officers responded to the crash at 4:06 p.m. in the northbound lanes on Maple Grove just south of Fairview. Investigating officers say the school bus driver apparently became distracted by activity just off the roadway. Traffic ahead of the bus was stopped at a red light. The bus driver was not able to stop and rear-ended a pick up truck. The driver of the pick up, an adult male was taken to a nearby hospital complaining of pain. Officers cited the school bus driver, a 66 year old woman from Boise, for inattentive driving, a misdemeanor.
