    Boise, Sept. 30, 2010 - Boise Police have identified a person of interest wanted for questioning in connection with a reported rape that occurred Tuesday evening at a motel on Curtis Rd near St. Alphonsus Hospital.

    Person of Interest: Edward Earl Murrell, 37, transient (photo below)

    Updated suspect description: Murrell is described as a dark skineed male, 5' 4", approx 170 lbs, with short, almost shave hair and a very short beard and mustache. 

    Boise Police have followed several leads but so far have not been able to located the suspect. The suspect is known to have been in Boise in recent weeks. He is not believed to have access to a vehicle and officers are unsure if the suspect is still in the Boise area. The person of interest is originally believed to be from South Carolina and was known to be in Wyoming last January. 

    Anyone with information on the location of the person of interest is urged to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.

    Boise, Sept. 29, 2010, 1:55 a.m. - Boise Police are searching for the suspect in a rape reported last evening at a Curtis Rd motel. Officers have learned the suspect is transient and known to have stayed at local shelters. The suspect is considered by officers to be armed and dangerous. 

    What Happened:Boise Police were called shortly after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28th to a motel on S. Curtis Rd near St. Alphonsus Hospital. When officers arrived, they met an adult female in the motel lobby who reported a man she knew had forcibly raped her at knifepoint, and the attack had just occurred in a room at the motel. When officers went to search the room, the suspect was gone. Officers have searched all night and alerted local shelters, but have not yet found the suspect.

    Suspect description:The rape suspect is described as a dark skinned man in his 30's, 5' 4", approx 145 lbs. The suspect is believed to be armed with a knife. No clothing description is available at this time.

    "We consider this suspect violent and dangerous, and we very much want to find him," said Lt. Alan Cavener of the Boise Police Patrol Division.

    "The victim was courageous to report this right away. The faster officers can begin looking for a criminal suspect, often the better chances we have of finding that suspect." said Lt. Cavener.
