Officers Arrest Woman accused of Stealing Car, Credit Cards

09-21-10 Officers Arrest Woman accused of Stealing Car, Credit Cards

Boise, Sept. 21, 2010 - Boise Police arrested a woman last night and charged her with two felonies in connection with a stolen car and credit cards. Officers say they also found evidence the woman may be connected to another recent home burglary. Sharing information among several Boise PD units, including Patrol, Property Crimes, Retail Crimes and the Metro Violent Crimes Task Force helped make the arrest and recovery of stolen items possible.

Arrested: Brianna M. Caldwell, 31, Boise

Charges: Grand Theft by Possession (F), Forgery (F)

What Happened: Boise Police have been investigating a report of a car stolen, a stolen purse and a possible home burglary that occurred Thursday, Sept. 16th at a home southeast of Orchard and Overland. Officers learned that since the theft, credit cards from the victim had been used at several local businesses. Following leads, officers located the suspect, Caldwell as she left an apartment in west Boise late last night. Officers also located the stolen vehicle and some of the property that had been inside the vehicle when it was taken. Officers were able to return the car and the recovered contents to the victim. Evidence at this time indicates the car may have been left unlocked in front of the victim's home during the day, and the purse and car keys may have been left inside the car at the time of the theft.

During the investigation. officers found evidence the suspect, Caldwell may be connected to another home burglary that occurred earlier this month near Law and E. Parkcenter. That investigation continues. Additional charges against the suspect are possible.
