07-22-10 911 call ends in Battery on an Officer charge; Overnight Felony arrests of note

Arrested: Kenneth L. Jennings, 23, Boise

Charges: Battery on an Officer (F)

Boise Police responded to a 911 call requesting fire and police at a medical facility on the 9100 block of west Michelle yesterday (July 21st) at approximately 10:30 a.m. Officers determined a patient in the group home had called 911 after being involved in an argument with facility staff. As officers spoke with the suspect he became angry and at one point threatened to take the officer's gun and kill him, before lunging at the officer's waist. Moments later the suspect kicked the officer in the leg. Officers took the suspect into custody without further incident. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

TITLE 18 - CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS - CHAPTER 9 - ASSAULT AND BATTERY -18-915.Assault or battery upon certain personnel-- Punishment. (1) Any person who commits a crime provided for in this chapter against or upon a justice, judge, magistrate, prosecuting attorney, public defender, peace officer, bailiff, marshal, sheriff, police officer, correctional officer, employee of the department of correction,  Idaho state police, fireman, and the perpetrator knows or has reason to know of the victim's status, shall be guilty of the crime of Assault or battery upon certain personnel (F)

Warrant Arrested: Timothy C. McCormick, 21, Eagle

  Warrant Charges: Vandalism (F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Vandalism yesterday.

The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into the use of a key to vandalize a vehicle parked on the 1100 block of west River street in May of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect used a key to scratch the side, and rear bumper of the BMW car after an argument took place. Repairs to the vehicle are expected to exceed $1,000.00 That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
