Arrested: Christopher L. Morgan, 34, no known address

Charges:Fleeing & Evading Police (F), Citation issued for Failure to Purchase a Drivers Licence(I), Citation issued for Cancelled Registration (I), Citation issued for Stop Sign Violation (I)

Boise Police observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign yesterday evening (May 13th) at approximately 7:00 p.m. at Camas and Vista. Officers activated emergency lights and the vehicle pulled over in a nearby parking lot. As officers came to a stop behind the vehicle, they saw the backing lights come on. The vehicle accelerated toward the marked police car nearly striking it, then squealed its tires as it pulled out of the parking lot at a high rate of speed onto Vista. The vehicle crossed five lanes of traffic causing other cars to stop to avoid collisions. Officers pursued the vehicle as it travelled at a  high rate of speed down Vista, making random turns to avoid officers. Officers located the vehicle sitting at the intersection of Edson and Abbs streets. The driver was standing next to the car when officers approached and began walking away when he saw police. Officers ordered the suspect to stop. He did not comply. The suspect jumped a nearby fence and was confronted by three angry dogs. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. A check through Ada County Dispatch indicated the suspect did not have a current drivers license and the vehicle registration was cancelled. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
