Boise Police on patrol yesterday (May 11th) at approximately 10:00 p.m. observed a vehicle fail to stop as it entered a roadway, and conducted a traffic stop near Maple Grove and Franklin streets. As officers from patrol and the Ada Metro Violent Crimes Task Force contacted the driver, a Boise Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle indicating the likely presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle and the suspects revealed a plastic baggie containing 2.0 grams TPW of meth, a bindle containing a small amount of meth, several items of drug paraphernalia including baggies and a pipe with meth residue and a handgun in the possession of Shane Nelsen, a convicted felon.     Arrested: Rebeca Carrillo, 36, Nampa

    Charges:Driving Under the Influence (DUI)(F)

Boise Police observed a vehicle running in the parking lot of a closed retail business early this morning (May 12th) at approximately 1:45 a.m. As officers pulled into the parking lot to investigate due to the late hour and proximity to the business, the vehicle pulled foreward toward the police car and stopped. Officers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver. The suspect, who appeared to be very intoxicated at the time, failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .15/.14 at the Ada County Jail. A check through Ada County records indicated the suspect had prior convictions for DUI making this charge a felony. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Roxana Beck, 23, Boise

   Charges:Burglary (F)

Boise Police responded to a report of a theft at a retail store on the 5200 block of West Franklin yesterday (May 11th) at approximately 5:30 p.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect conceal items and then leave the store without paying for them. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.

Warrant Arrested: Abdi M. Haji, 18, Boise

Warrant Charges: Lewd Conduct with a Minor (F)

The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Lewd Conduct with a Minor yesterday.

The arrest warrant stems from an ongoing investigation into inappropriate sexual activity that allegedly took place in March at a Boise Bench home. Evidence indicates the suspect was an aquantance of the victim, a juvenile female under the age of 13 at the time. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant. Detectives have no evidence at this time that other victims may be involved. Further inquiries should be directed to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorneys office.
