05-24-10 Officers Investigate Residential Robbery - Doesn't Appear Random
Boise, May 24, 2010 - Boise Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a University area home earlier this morning. An SUV taken in the robbery has already been recovered. The victims say the suspects also took several guns and home electronics.
What Happened: Boise Police were called shortly after 7:00 a.m. this morning to a home in the neighborhood between University Drive and W. Boise Ave. when a resident called police dispatch reporting a robbery that had occurred approx. a half-hour earlier. A resident of the home says three men came into the house through an unlocked door. The victim says one of the suspects carried a gun. The victim says he was ordered to take the suspects to his bedroom where he kept several guns. The victim says the suspects drove off with approx 5 guns and some home electronics including a video gaming system. The victim says one of the suspects also drove off in his SUV. Officers found the SUV abandoned a short time later in a nearby parking lot.
Four people total were in the house when the suspects entered, however, 3 other occupants say they slept through the incident.
The suspects description at this time is vague, described as three adult males wearing dark hoodies. Suspect description does not, at this time, include a suspect vehicle.
At this time, Boise Police detectives believe the suspects targeted the home and the robbery was not random. The crime remains under investigation.
