Share a Bear and Show you Care!

02-08-10 Share a Bear and Show you Care!

News Release re-distributed in cooperation with the Ada County Sheriff's Office:

Donations Needed for Project Bear Care

Boise, Feb. 8, 2010 - Victim Witness Coordinators from Ada County and Boise City are teaming up with several warm-hearted sponsors for the 22nd Annual Project Bear Care and are urging you to donate to this very worthy cause.

Citizens are being asked to bring a new teddy bear to the BSU men's basketball game on Thursday February 11th. The bears will go to the Ada County-Boise City Victim Witness programs.

Officers and Victim Witness Coordinators give the bears to children who are going through some tough times. The bears show them that someone cares.

How you can help:

• Bring a NEW teddy bear to the BSU vs. Utah State men's basketball game, Thursday, February 11th at Taco Bell Arena. Tip off is 7:05 p.m.

• Please do NOT bring seasonal bears (i.e. Valentine or Christmas). Kids in crisis are not thinking about the holiday. They are just looking for a furry, friendly face to help them through a trauma.

Other drop-off sites for new bears are:

• Public Safety Building, 7200 Barrister, "Police/Sheriff Records" window

• Coldwell Banker, 516 S. Capital Blvd.

Several generous sponsors are helping in Project Bear Care this year.

Thanks go out to KBOI Radio, Boise Noon Optimists, BSU Athletic Department and AirVan Moving Group.
