Attempted Burglary and Aggravated Assault charges; overnight arrests

--------------

Arrested: Brandon L. Scown, 18, Boise

Charges: Attempted Burglary (F), Malicious Injury to Property (F)

Boise Police responded to a malicious injury to property call in a neighborhood near Ustick and Cloverdale early yesterday morning (December 16th) at approximately 5:00 a.m. After a detailed investigation, officers determined that two suspects, one juvenile and one adult male, Brandon Scown, had committed several crimes that evening.

Officers have evidence that the two had attempted to break into a retail store at the corner of Fairview and Five Mile just after midnight using a crowbar. The suspects failed to gain entry to the business.

Evidence indicates the two suspects then went to a home in the nearby neighborhood and entered an unlocked garage. The suspects stole several items from the garage and poured paint on the car. The suspects then poured a bag of lawn fertilizer on the vehicle. Officers believe the two then went to a nearby home and spray painted a window with a can of spray paint.

Officers recovered some of the stolen items during the investigation.

The adult suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. The juvenile suspect will face similar charges in juvenile court.

The suspect also chased the victim in the parking lot with a brick, eventually striking the victim's car-breaking the windshield. The victim is employed at the facility.
