Arrested: John David Webb, 30, Boise
Charge: Aggravated Battery (F)

Boise Police dispatch received a citizen call of a fight with a baseball bat at 5:30 p.m., Saturday afternoon, Dec. 12th. The citizen reporting the fight said a man had struck another man three times with an aluminum baseball bat, and the battery had just happened outside in the area of 16th St & Jefferson. The citizen also gave dispatchers a suspect description, which was immediately broadcast to officers in the area.

Moments later, an officer on patrol spotted a man matching the suspect’s description walking. Officers gathered evidence and found the man was indeed the suspect, later identified as John D. Webb. The battery was apparently the result of an ongoing dispute between the suspect and victim. The victim did not require hospitalization. Officers did find the baseball bat apparently used in the battery in the street nearby.
