11-16-09 Busy weekend for Boise Police; Felony Arrests

      Multiple Felony Arrests make for a busy weekend at Boise Police Department

    Arrested: Donald R. Morton Jr, 47, Garden City

    Charges: Lewd Conduct with a Minor under 16 (F)

    Boise Police received a report of a sexual assault that had taken place in a home in southwest Boise Saturday (November 14th) at approximately 7:00 p.m. Witnesses tell police the suspect assaulted a child under ten years old at the home. The suspect and the victim are known to each other. The man had fled the scene when officers arrived. The suspect was located later that evening at approximately 10:00 p.m. and booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Carlos Trejo-Gonzalez, 34, Boise

    Charges: Malicious Injury to Property (F), Possession of Marijuana (m), Possession of Open Container Alcohol (m),

    Boise Police received a report of vandalism on several vehicles parked at a bar on the 1000 block of South Vista November 1st of this year. Evidence indicates the suspect used a rock to smash the windshields of 8 vehicles with damages expected to exceed $2,000 dollars. 

    Through the course of their investigation, Boise Police Detectives identified the perpetrator some time later and officers located the suspect as he attempted to leave the same establishment in his car Friday evening (November 13th) at approximately 6:00 p.m. Boise Police patrol officers stopped the suspect and he was taken into custody on the vandalism charge. As officers attempted to move the suspect's car from the roadway for safety, they found a baggy of marijuana with a total package weight of 19 grams and an open container of beer. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Kamron D. Cooley, 19, Twin Falls

    Charges: Robbery (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Resisting and Obstructing (m)

   Arrested: Koty D. Cooley, 18, Twin Falls

    Charges: Robbery (F),

    Boise Police received a report of a robbery Saturday (November 14th) at approximately 2:20 p.m. from a business on the 300 block of North Milwaukee Street. Loss prevention employees tell police the suspects entered the store and concealed several DVD's, before leaving the store without paying for them. Loss prevention personnel attempted to detain the suspects, who then used force to attempt to escape. Koty Cooley physically fought with loss prevention employees and was eventually cornered until police arrived. Kamron Cooley managed to get free of loss prevention employees and was later captured by police after struggling with officers. During the brief foot chase with officers, Kamron Cooley dropped a glass pipe containing marijuana residue. Both suspects were booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges. 

 TITLE 18 -CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS -CHAPTER 65 ROBBERY 18-6501. Robbery defined. Robbery is the felonious taking of personal property in the possession of another, from his person or immediate presence, and against his will, accomplished by means of force or fear.

   Arrested: Elizabeth D. Coffman, 41, Boise

    Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police received a report of shoplifting Saturday (November 14th) at approximately 10:00 p.m. from a business on the 5200 block of West Franklin. Loss prevention employees tell police the suspect entered the store and selected several items before leaving the store without paying for them. Boise Police believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft, resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Melinda K. Wenberg, 19, Garden City

    Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police received a report of shoplifting Sunday (November 15th) at approximately 2:00 p.m. from a business on the 8000 block of West Overland Road. Loss prevention employees tell police the suspect entered the store and selected several items before leaving the store without paying for them. Boise Police believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft, resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

   Arrested: Dustin L. Edison, 28, Nampa

    Charges: Felon in Possession of a Firearm (F), Hunting Without a License (m), Hunting with the Aid of Artificial Light (M), Shooting from a Public Highway (m)

   Arrested: Dustin H. Chase, 28, Caldwell

    Charges:  Hunting Without a License (m), Hunting wit the Aid of Artificial Light (M), Shooting from a Public Highway (m)

    Boise Police received a citizen report of shots fired near the corner of Warm Springs and Eckert streets early Sunday morning  (November 15th) at approximately 3:23 a.m. With the help of several concerned citizens officers located the vehicle involved in the shots fired incident on Warm Springs Avenue. Evidence indicates that the pair had used a .410 shotgun handgun to fire repeatedly at a deer they had seen from the road at Warm Springs near Eckert street using a flashlight. A check through Ada County dispatch indicated Dustin Edison had a prior felony conviction from 2000 resulting in the Felon in Possession of a Firearm charge. The suspects were booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.

  Warrant Arrested: Jonathan E. Tolman, 32, Boise

   Warrant Charges:  Lewd Conduct with a Minor (F)

  Warrant Arrested: Melissa A. Tolman, 27, Boise

   Warrant Charges:  Lewd Conduct with a Minor (F)

     The suspects were taken into custody on outstanding felony warrants for Lewd Conduct with a Minor Friday (November 13th).

    The arrest warrants stem from incidents that took place at a Boise residence during July of this year. The Lewd Conduct was not reported to police until September. Evidence indicates that both suspects had inappropriate contact with a juvenile female under the age of 15 who was known to them. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.

  Warrant Arrested: Ricardo A. Ribas, 26, Boise

   Warrant Charges:  Lewd Conduct with a Minor (F)

     The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Lewd Conduct with a Minor Friday (November 13th).

    The arrest warrant stems from incidents that took place during May of this year. At that time, evidence indicates the suspect had inappropriate contact with a juvenile female under the age of 15 at an apartment and in a vehicle. The suspect and the victim are known to each other. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
