Officers Search for Robbery Suspect; Suspicious Activity leads to Drug Charges
Boise, Nov. 10, 2009 - Boise Police are searching for the two men who tried to rob a woman at an east Boise ATM last night. The suspect descriptions are vague. Officers are hoping someone may have seen something similar or suspicious in the area that may help identify the suspects.
What Happened: Boise Police were called by a woman at 9:18 p.m. Monday night, Nov. 9th, from a parking lot on the 3500 blk of S. Federal Way.
The woman told officers she had pulled up to use a drive-thru ATM at the Bank of America. As she was finishing her transaction, she said a car pulled alongside her, the passenger of the vehicle got out and pointed a long gun, either a rifle or shot gun at her and demanded money. The two spoke briefly and the suspect left without taking any money from the woman. Because of the ongoing investigation, Boise Police are not releasing the exact content of that brief conversation. The suspect got back into the vehicle and the driver drove off headed east on Federal Way. The woman drove the a nearby store parking lot and called police.
Suspect & Vehicle Description: approx 6' male, lanky build, wearing dark clothing inckluding a black full ski mask. He appeared to have a dark complexion. The suspect was a passenger in a dark green or blue passenger car.
Again, the descriptions are vague, but if someone saw a vehicle with occupants matching the above description between 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on or near Federal Way, they're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS, www.343cops, or text CRIMES or 274637, subject: Tip236.
At this time, this incident appears isolated.
Arrested: Randall W. Scmidt, 44, Boise
Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth) (F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m), Disorderly Conduct (m)
Boise Police officers on patrol on the 500 blk of S. Vista about 3:00 a.m. this morning, observed two adult males behind a closed business. As officers watched, the two men carryied something from behind the building and walk to a nearby apartment complex. With the assistance of backup units, one of the two suspects was located hiding in the complex. After investigating, officers found the men had been climbing into the dumpster behind the store looking for items. During the investigation, an officer observed a glass pipe in plain view inside the suspects vehicle that had been parked in the apartment complex. A Police K-9 unit alerted on the suspects vehicle. Officers recovered glass pipes, scales, syringes and other paraphernalia that contained Meth residue resulting in the drug charges. The suspect was booked at the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
