Aggravated Battery and Drug charges top the overnight arrests in the City of Boise.
Arrested: Johnathan E. Drake, 23, Boise
Charges: Aggravated Battery (F)
Boise Police responded to a fight call at a residence on the 1900 block of West Panama yesterday (November 4th) at approximately 11:00 p.m. Witnesses tell police that the suspect had been drinking and became angry at an adult female roommate. At one point, witnesses say the man held her by the throat before retrieving a cannister of lighter fluid. At that point, witnesses say the suspect sprayed the victim with the lighter fluid while holding a lighter and making verbal threats. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
18-907 Aggravated battery defined. (1) A person commits aggravated battery who, in committing battery:(a) Causes great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement; or (b) Uses a deadly weapon or instrument; or
(c) Uses any vitriol, corrosive acid, or a caustic chemical of any nature; or (d) Uses any poison or other noxious or destructive substance or liquid;

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)(F), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (m)

Boise Police investigating a report of shots fired near Roosevelt and Rose Hill last night (November 4th) at approximately 10:20 p.m. observed a vehicle in the immediate area driving eratically and conducted a traffic stop. Officers ultimately requested the assistance of a Boise Police K-9 unit who alerted on the vehicle. Officers recovered digital scales, syringes, a small amount of Meth, 33 grams of marijuana and other items of drug paraphernalia. The suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
Arrested: Samuel J. Hansen, 26, Boise
Charges: Driving Under the Influence (DUI) (F)
Boise Police in the area of 3rd and Main early this morning (November 5th) observed a vehicle fail to signal before making a turn. Officers who stopped the vehicle spoke with the suspect and smelled alcohol. After refusing to conduct field sobriety tests, officers took the suspect to the Ada County jail where he recorded a blood alcohol level (BAC) of .17 . A check through Ada County dispatch indicated the suspect had previous DUI convictions, making this charge a Felony. The suspect was booked on the above listed charge.
Warrant Arrested: Troy D. Herring, 43, Springfield Oregon
Warrant Charges: Receiving Stolen Property (F)
The suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Receiving Stolen Property yesterday (November 4th).
The arrest warrant stems from an incident that took place on July 2nd of this year. On that date, evidence indicates the suspect was involved in the use of a stolen credit card to purchase items at a local retailer. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
