    Arrested: Ian R. Herbst, 19, Star

    Charges: 3 counts of Burglary (F)

    Boise Police Detectives investigating several local burglary charges took Ian Herbst into custody Friday afternoon. The arrest comes after a detailed investigation into 3 residential burglaries in a neighborhood near Chinden and Five Mile that took place over the last month. Officers have evidence that indicates that during the burglaries the suspect took personal items including jewelry and blank checks. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Jacob T. Dial, 27, Twin Falls

    Charges: Malicious Injury to Property (F), Assault (m), probation violation charges

    Boise Police responded to a report of vandalism at a Motel on the 4000 block of West Fairview Avenue Sunday (November 1st) at approximately 10:00 p.m. Employees of the business tell police that the suspect had become angry at the hotel staff and thrown several items from the hotel lobby counter at one of the employees. The suspect also destroyed a candy dispenser and other items in the lobby before fleeing the scene on foot. Officers determined the suspect also had an outstanding warrant for probation violation. The suspect returned a short time later and officers took him into custody. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

18-901.Assault defined. An assault is: (a)  An unlawful attempt, coupled with apparent ability, to commit a violent injury on the person of another; or (b)  An intentional, unlawful threat by word or act to do violence to the person of another, coupled with an apparent ability to do so, and doing some act which creates a well-founded fear in such other person that such violence is imminent.
