08-17-09 Burglary and Drug charges top weekend arrests

    Boise August 17th, 2009 - Burglary and Drug charges top the weekend arrests in the City of Boise.

    Arrested: Simon T. Rakow, 26, Boise

     Charges: Possession of Marijuana with intent to deliver (F), Parole Violation Charges

    Boise Police Gang Unit served a search warrant early Saturday morning (August 15th) at approximately 1:15 a.m. at a residence on the 11000 block of West Cloverfield Lane. Officers recovered approximately 1 pound of marijuana worth roughly $3,500.00. Officers also recovered several items of paraphernalia and packaging materials. Officers have evidence that indicates the suspect, later identified as Simon Rakow had been selling the drugs out of the home. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Jerrmarium L. Gray, 18, Boise

     Charges: Burglary (F)

    Arrested: Justin Snowden, 20, Boise

     Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a burglary report Sunday (August 16th) at approximately 12:16 p.m. at a residence on the 2800 block of North Citrus Place. Witnesses tell police that they observed two men, that he knew, stealing a safe from the home as they returned home. The two suspects fled the area in a vehicle followed by one of the victims friends. A short time later the friend called police and indicated that the two suspects were at a residence on the 1200 block of Hartman street. Boise Police responded to the residence, and after a short time received consent to search the home. Officers recovered the safe and the two suspects. The suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. No further information is available at this time.

    Arrested: Michael K. Govantes, 19, Boise

     Charges: Burglary (F), Battery (m)

    Boise Police responded to a burglary Saturday (August 15th) at approximately 1:23 a.m. at a convenience store on the 1900 block of West Boise Avenue. Witnesses tell police they observed the suspect get out of a car and enter the store while the car waited outside. The suspect then stole two cases of beer that he did not pay for and ran out of the store. The suspect, later identified as Michael Govantes threw one of the cases of beer into the car, that sped off before he was able to get into the vehicle himself. Witnesses chased the suspect and caught him a few blocks away on foot. The suspect was combative and pushed one of the witnesses before they brought him back to the store. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Orion C. Shaff, 18, Boise

     Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a burglary Sunday (August 16th) at approximately 8:50 p.m. at a home on the 1300 block of West Melrose Street. Victims tell police that they had been gone for the weekend. When they returned home they discovered that two firearms had been stolen from the home. The victims indicated that they may know the person who stole them. Officers contacted the suspect, later identified as Orion Shaff, and recovered the stolen weapons. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Jay C. Hansen, 25, Boise

     Charges: Grand Theft (F)

    Boise Police responded to a theft report Friday (August 14th) at approximately 1:00 p.m. at a convenience store on the 700 block of North Garden Street. Store managers tell police that an employee, later identified as Jay Hansen, had been taking money from the business during several transactions over the last several months totaling more than $500.00. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Warrant Arrested: Patrick R. Brown, 21, Boise

    Warrant Charges: Burglary (F),

    Patrick Brown was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary Saturday (August 15th) at approximately 12:30 p.m. 

     The arrest warrant stems from an incident that took place on June 24th of this year. On that date the suspect stole beer from a store on the 12000 block of West Ustick. Witnesses provided police with a license plate number and officers located the suspect some time later. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorneys Office and resulted in the felony arrest warrant.
