07-24-09 Drug charges top overnight arrests

    Boise July 24th, 2009 -Drug charges top the overnight arrests in the City of Boise

    Arrested: Ian T. Salway-Skelton, 30 Boise

    Charges: Delivery of a Controlled Substance (F),

    Undercover Boise Police Narcotics Officers (BANDIT), conducting an ongoing investigation that began in June of this year, arrested Ian Salway-Skelton in the area of Overland and Overland Park yesterday (July 23rd) at approximately 5:00 p.m. The arrest comes after the sale of a quarter pound of marijuana to undercover detectives. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. No further information is available at this time.


    The BANDIT Task Force investigates gambling, prostitution and illegal drug use. The Task Force includes Detectives from the Boise Police Department, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agency and the Idaho National Guard, working as part of a multi-jurisdictional task force called B.A.N.D.I.T. (Boise Area Narcotics and Drug Interdiction Task Force), commissioned to protect the community from illegal drug activity.

   Arrested: Sophat Hem, 27, Boise

    Charges: Delivery of a Controlled Substance (F),

    Boise Police were conducting an ongoing investigation into drug sales in the area of 7100 West Overland yesterday (July 23rd) at approximately 6:30 p.m. when they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction in a parking lot between the suspect, later identified as Hem Sophat, and another suspect. Boise Police recovered evidence of drug sales and determined that the suspect had been dealing marijuana from his vehicle in the parking lot. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. No further information is available at this time.

    Arrested: Laurie R, Mydland, 47, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth) (F),

    Arrested: Tanecia  Dutil-Mydland, 25, Boise

    Charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth) (F),

    Boise Police responded to a request for assistance from Idaho Probation and Parole agents at a home on the 400 block of North Roosevelt yesterday (July 23rd) at approximately 11:50 p.m. During a search of the home, Parole agents and Boise Police located several zip-lock baggies containing residue, a clear glass vial containing a small amount of Meth, a silver metal container containing less than a gram of marijuana and a container with several prescription medications. The suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Eddie F. Belen, 29, Boise

     Charges: Grand Theft (F)

    Boise Police working on a theft that took place on June 11th from a residence on the 1700 block of Bedford determined that the suspect, later identified as Eddie Belen, who is known to the victim, had taken several items of personal property including jewelry and electronics valued at more than a thousand dollars. Boise Police located the suspect yesterday and after a detailed investigation he was taken into custody. The suspect was was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Robert C. Brady, 57, Boise

     Charges: DUI (3rd conviction)(F), Driving Without Privileges (m)

    Boise Police on patrol yesterday (July 23rd) at approximately 9:00 p.m. in the area of Ustick and Eagle road observed a vehicle straddling the center divider. Officers who made contact with the driver, later identified as Robert Brady, noted the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage as they spoke with the man who appeared to be intoxicated at the time. The suspect was unable to perform field sobriety tests and a blood draw was conducted for later testing. Officers working with Ada County dispatch determined the suspect's license was currently suspended and that he had two prior convictions for DUI making this a felony charge.  The suspect was was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Warrant Arrested: Hailey M. Hinton, 21, Vale Oregon

   Warrant Charges:  Grand Theft (F)

    Hailey Hinton was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Grand Theft yesterday (July 23rd) approximately 5:25 p.m.

    The arrest warrant stems from an incident that took place on January 15th of this year at a residence on the 3200 block of N Mountain Lane. On that date the victim told police that a suspect had taken a camera and assorted accessories from his residence. Boise Police detectives later determined that the suspect had taken the camera. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
