Boise July 9th, 2009 - Aggravated Assault and Intimidation charges top the overnight arrests in the City of Boise
Arrested: Marcus A. Crutchfield, 28, Boise
Charges: Aggravated Assault (F)
Boise Police responded to an Aggravated Assault call early this morning (July 9th) at approximately 1:10 a.m. near the corner of Capitol and Main. Witnesses say that the suspect, later identified as Marcus Crutchfield, had been involved in an unrelated altercation earlier in the evening. The suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated at the time, approached the two victims and produced a knife. He then verbally threatened the two men, one of whom happen to be an off duty Boise Police Officer. The suspect, when confronted with an armed, off duty officer, quickly fled the scene. Uniformed Boise Police Officers who responded to the assault call located the man just minutes later and recovered the knife. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect was transported to the hospital for injuries he received in a fight earlier that evening. Later he was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
Arrested: Kevin W. Meacham, 44, Meridian
Charges: Intimidation of a States Witness (F)
Boise Police received a report of an intimidation situation yesterday (July 9th) at approximately 2:00 a.m. The victim tells police that she was threatened the previous day with bodily harm if she testified in an upcoming court case. The suspect, later identified as Kevin Meacham, was located as he arrived at court yesterday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. The man was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.
Warrant Arrested: Joshua R. Simplot, 26, Boise
Warrant Charges: Aggravated Battery (F)
Joshua Simplot was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Aggravated Battery yesterday (July 8th) approximately 5:20 p.m.
The arrest warrant stems from an incident that took place on April 10th at a bar on the 1000 block of South Broadway. On that date multiple witnesses tell police that the suspect had been involved in a verbal argument with the victim. At one point witnesses say the suspect struck the victim with brass knuckles before hitting him again with a beer bottle. Officers believe alcohol may be a factor in this case. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorneys Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
Warrant Arrested: Garrett M. Aires, 22, Shelton Washington
Warrant Charges: Aggravated Assault (F)
Garrett Aires was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant for Aggravated Assault yesterday (July 8th) approximately 10:25 p.m.
The arrest warrant stems from an incident that took place on May 19th of 2008 at a home on the 1700 block of East Sendero Lane. On that date witnesses tell police that the suspect threatened to beat the victim with a hockey stick in an argument over personal property. That investigative information was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorneys Office and resulted in the felony warrant.
