06-04-09 Possession, burglary and grand theft charges top overnight arrests

 Boise June 4th, 2009 - possession, burglary, and grand theft charges top the overnight arrests in the City of Boise

  Arrested: sherry L. Roach, 35, Boise

   Charges: Possession of a controlled substance (Meth)(F)

    Boise Police on patrol in the area of 28th and Idaho Streets early this morning (June 4th) at approximately 1:14 a.m. observed a vehicle commit two traffic violations. When officers stopped the vehicle they observed the driver repeatedly reaching under the seat. Officers made contact with the driver, later identified as Sherry Roach, who continued to bend down and reach under the seat of the vehicle. Boise police officers received a consent to search under the seat and recovered a metal spoon and a needle with meth residue on them. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

  Arrested: Clark D. Fullmer, 43, Boise

   Charges: Grand theft by possession (F)

    Boise Police responded to a report of a fraud in progress at a retail outlet on the 5200 block of West Franklin yesterday (June 3rd) at approximately 5:00 p.m. Witnesses tell police that the suspect, later identified as Clark Fullmer had already left the store when officers arrived. Boise Police stopped the suspect moments later in a vehicle at Franklin and Curtis for expired registration and to investigate the incident. Boise Police determined the suspect was currently on probation and a 4th amendment waiver, allowing police to search the vehicle. Officers located a stolen wallet and credit cards in the vehicle resulting in the felony grand theft charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.

  Arrested: Oleg Babin, 18, Meridian

   Charges: Burglary (F)

    Boise Police responded to a shoplifting at a convenience store on the 1000 block of South Broadway early this morning at approximately 12:16 a.m. Store employees tell police that they witnessed the suspect, later identified as Oleg Babin, conceal 2 beers in his pants pockets and leave the store without paying for them. Boise police located the suspect in the company of two other males a block away from the store. During the investigation police recovered the stolen items and determined the other two males had been drinking alcohol. Officers believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to commit the theft resulting in the burglary charge. The suspect was transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges. The other two men were cited for illegal minor consumption of alcohol and released.
