05-12-09 Burglary suspects caught in the act; Overnight arrests

    Boise May 12th, 2009 -  Burglary suspects caught in the act and other overnight arrests of note in the city of Boise.

    Arrested: Wilbur L. Dulany, 18, Meridian

   Charges: Burglary (F), Resisting and obstructing officers (m), Illegal consumption of alcohol (m), 

    Arrested: Alex B. Emery, 18 Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F), Resisting and obstructing officers (m), Illegal consumption of alcohol (m), 

    Boise Police received a report of a vehicle burglary that had just taken place on the 300 block of north 30th street at approximately 3:30 a.m. this morning. Witnesses tell police that two men had been opening vehicles in the parking lot and taking items. Officers who responded conducted an immediate search of the area. During the search a Boise Police officer located two males in the area of Hester and Vale streets. As officers approached the suspects, they ran on foot. One suspect, later identified as Alex Emery, was taken into custody and the second man managed to elude officers at that location. The second suspect, later identified as Wilbur Dulany, was located a short time later at a residence on the 300 block of north 30th street. Officers determined that both men had been drinking alcohol earlier in the evening. Both suspects were transported to the Ada County Jail and booked on the above listed charges.

    Arrested: Jeremiah M. Sherrill, 19, Boise

   Charges: Burglary (F), Grand Theft (F), Carrying a weapon on school property (m)

    Boise Police School Resource Officers received a report of a theft at a school on the 6000 block of west Cassia street yesterday (May 11th). Victims tell police that a backpack was taken from a hallway containing a credit card along with personal items on Friday the 8th. Officers also learned that the next day the same suspect, later identified as Jeremiah Sherrill, had taken several sets of keys from an administration room in the facility and used those keys to steal cash from the desks in several rooms throughout the building. Boise School Resource Officers and school security spoke with the suspect Monday morning and during that investigation they found the suspect had a folding knife in his pocket on school property. During the investigation, officers recovered several of the stolen items and all of the stolen keys. The suspect was booked into the Ada County Jail on the above listed charges.
