03-30-09 Unrelated Burglary charges top weekend arrests

Boise March 30th, 2009 - Unrelated Burglary arrests top weekend charges.

    Arrested: Minerva M. Gutierrez, 26, Caldwell
    Charges: Burglary (F)

    On Saturday at approximately 6:39 p.m. Boise Police Officers responded to a theft in progress at a retail store on the 300 block of North Milwaukee Street. Loss prevention employees with the store tell Police they witnessed the suspect conceal several items of clothing and exit the store without attempting to pay for them. The suspect was detained outside the store until Police arrived. Boise Police believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to steal, resulting in the felony burglary charge.

    The Boise Police Organized Retail Crime Unit has developed a positive, productive working relationship with loss prevention agents from many local retail stores, large and small, local and national chains. The goal of the BPD Organized Retail Crime Unit is to work with retailers to reduce theft and fraud, crimes that can impact consumer prices.

    Charges: Burglary (F)

    On Friday afternoon at approximately 4:30 p.m. Boise Police Officers responded to a theft call at a retail store on the 300 block of North Milwaukee Street. Theft prevention employees with the store tell Police they witnessed the suspect conceal an item of clothing and exit the store without attempting to pay for it. The suspect was detained outside the store until Police arrived. Boise Police believe the suspect entered the store with the intent to steal, resulting in the felony burglary charge.

    Arrested: David Mitchell, 46, Boise
    Charges: Injury to a child (F)

    This incident is alleged to have taken place on March 28th, 2009 in a West Boise home. The victim,a teenager, is well known to the suspect. A verbal altercation turned into a physical confrontation and the victim sustained non life threatening injuries.

    No further information is available in this case.
