Boise March 3rd, 2009 - Overnight incidents: arrests

Armed Robbery

    At approximately 9:00 p.m. on Monday March 2nd officers were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at a residence on the 6300 block of West Lucky Lane in Boise. Victims tell Police that they were in their living room when they heard a knock at the door and yelled to let the suspects in. Two men wearing ski masks and carrying guns entered the home and demanded money. Victims tell Police they handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and a half ounce of marijuana. The suspects left the residence a short time later. No one was injured during the incident. No additional description of the suspects is available.

Arrested: Jennifer Ann Collantes, 31, Boise

Charges: 4 counts of Injury to a child (F)

    At approximately 8:00 a.m. on Monday Boise Police responded to a 911 call at a residence on the 7900 block of West Colehaven Court in Boise. Witnesses tell Police that four children, all under the age of 12 and as young as 3, had been left alone in the residence overnight for at least 10 hours. One of the children had gone to a neighbors house to report the situation. Witnesses tell Police that this takes place often and there is no phone in the residence in case of an emergency. At approximately 9:00 a.m. the suspect, identified as Jennifer Collantes, returned home and was taken into custody on the above charges. 

The children are currently in the custody of the State Health and Welfare.
