02-26-09 Burglary charges top overnight arrests

Arrested: Paul A Welch, 27 years old of Boise

Charges: 2 charges of Burglary (F)

On February 25th, 2009 - at approximately 9:22 PM officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress on the 1500 block of  Longmont. Witnesses tell officers that Paul Welsh entered an unlocked garage through the rear door. The victim tells officers he went out to his garage to find out why the light was on and saw someone in his car. The victim managed to detain the suspect while a friend called police. When Officers searched the suspect they located items taken from the garage. Officers also located items taken from another vehicle burglary which occurred earlier that evening on the 1600 block of Leadville. Welsh was arrested for the two burglaries and a misdemeanor warrant.

Arrested: Jeremy J Fitzgerald, 29 years old of Boise

Charges: Burglary (F), Possession of a controlled substance (Meth)(F)

On February 25th, 2009 - at approximately 5:00 PM officers responded to a shoplifter at a retail store on the 5200 block of West Franklin. Security personnel at the store tell officers that the suspect used pliers to remove the tag from shoes and left the store without paying for them. When Officers searched the suspect incident to his arrest they located approximately 5 grams of meth.
