12-04-08 Ongoing Missing Person Investigation

Boise, Dec. 4, 2008 -  Boise Police are marking the 4th anniversary of a Boise man's disappearance by once again asking the public for any help in locating the man.

Missing: Ahren "Benji" Benjamin Barnard, age 39 (born 1969)

Last Seen: Dec. 4, 2004 at a fast food restaurant at Cole & Overland in Boise.

Although, Boise Police can't, at this time, point to foul play involved in Mr. Barnard's disappearance, detectives believe he is endangered. Bernard's family firmly believes he would try to contact loved ones if he were able.

"Mr. Barnard's family is understandably heartbroken and still very much struggling with his disappearance," said Sgt. Mark Barnett of the Boise Police Criminal Investigations Division.

"Our goal is to continue to follow this case until we can provide some answers for the Barnard family, and this community on where he went and what happened on that day four years ago."

Boise Police Detectives continue to actively follow leads in the case, however, none of those leads have turned up any evidence of the missing man's whereabouts. Boise Police, in cooperation with Mr. Bernard's family, are asking citizens if they have any information that might help in locating him.

  • Dark hair frosted blond on top
  • 5'10", 180 lbs
  • Brown eyes
  • May have a moustache and goatee.
  • Has a scar on his left arm
  • Last seen wearing jeans and a black leather jacket

Detectives believe someone has information on the whereabouts of Ahren "Benji" Barnard. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
