UPDATE: Nov. 4, 2008, 6:00 p.m. - Boise Police detectives have learned that the suspect in last nights robbery of the Washington Mutual bank is in police custody in Portland, Oregon.

Boise Police received an arrest warrant for the suspect about 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. He was found driving a stolen vehicle in Portland approx. two hours later.

It's the second arrest of a bank robbery suspect today, meaning Boise Police believe they have solved both bank robberies that occurred in the city since last night.

Arrested: Damion Keith Madison, , 35, Boise
    Charged: Robbery, Grand Theft

What Happened: Early this morning, Boise Police developed a lead, largely thanks to a citizen tip, that helped identify the suspect in the robbery of the Washington Mutual bank on Franklin and Orchard that occurred last night. While investigating, officers also learned that the suspect was responsible for stealing a Cadillac Escalade in Boise late last night, several hours after the robbery.

While officers spent the day searching for the suspect, the stolen vehicle was entered into a National Crime Information computer, accessible to law enforcement throughout the country. Boise Police Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect approx. 2:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Approx 4:45 p.m. officers with the Portland Bureau of Police found the stolen SUV. Boise Police detectives were told the Portland officers  later found the suspect and took him into custody.

Boise Police say the suspect is in custody on a $250,000 bond.
