12-28-07 Family In Need
Boise December 28th, 2007- Boise Police Officers have been working to help a family struck by tragedy this holiday season. A young family recently relocated to our community with newborn twins. Due to complications with the pregnancy aftercare, the mother of these two infants passed away here in Boise leaving the babies and their father alone. The father is seeking employment in the area and the family needs help!
Boise Police Officers who learned about the situation have made donations to help the family. A formula supply company has already donated a years supply of formula for the infants!
During this warm spirited holiday season we would like to offer the opportunity to any member of the public who would like to help out in a difficult time for this family. What the family needs is funding to help keep the family afloat while the father finds employment. They also need to cover baby related expenses like diapers and child care. Donations of diaper certificates or gift cards for items related to the children are greatly appreciated.
An account has been set up with U.S. Bank and monetary donations can be left at any branch of U.S. Bank under the name of The Schmidt Benefit Fund.
Donations can also be dropped off at the Ten Mile Christian Church offices located at 440, West Penwood Suite 200 in Meridian.
The family has designated Former Boise Police Officer Alana Walker to be their spokesperson. She can be contacted at (208) 703-1519
