12-10-07 UPDATE: Aggrivated Battery Investigation

12-10-07 UPDATE: Aggrivated Battery Investigation

Boise, Dec. 10, 2007 - Boise Police continue to investigate the attack of a woman jogger. After some investigation, detectives are releasing a composite sketch of the suspect. Officers hope the sketch may provide additional leads from citizens that will help police identify the suspect.

The woman was jogging on a path west of Maple Grove and north of Hackamore approx. 4:50 p.m., Friday afternoon, Nov. 30th. She was attacked by a man who threatened her with an edged weapon. Detectives believe the motive for the attack was sexual assault. The woman was able to fight off her attacker, get away and call 9-1-1.

Since that time, police have been investigating and following leads, but are still searching for a suspect.

With the composite sketch, detectives, working closely with the victim, are able to release an updated, more detailed description of the suspect. He is described as:

  • A white man 28 - 35 years old.
  • 5' 4" - 5' 5", 120 - 140 lbs.
  • Very skinny with sunken cheeks, the look of a "meth user".
  • Hazel eyes, brown hair, pale complexion.
  • At the time of the attack, he had a 3-day growth of stubble giving him an unshaven look.
  • He has prominent wrinkles on his forehead and around his eyes.
  • The victim describes his voice as very high-pitched.

At the time of the attack, the suspect was wearing:

  • a dark grey or black sweatshirt zipped up. The sweatshirt had black or dark grey stencil writing and white strings.
  • dark blue denim jeans
  • tennis shoes

The suspect was last seen eastbound on foot toward Maple Grove.

At this time, the suspect is not believed to be a suspect in any similar crime in Boise, and there's no evidence this suspect has been involved in any other attacks in nearby communities, although Boise Police are working closely with other area law enforcement to investigate possible leads.

Anyone with any information is urged to call crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
