11-29-07 Sexual Battery Charges

    Boise, Nov. 29, 2007 - New charges of sexual battery of a child have been filed against a former Meridian man, now in prison on similar charges from Canyon County.

    Suspect: Clifford A. Gunther, 23, currently a resident of the Idaho State Correction Institution.

    Ada County Charges: 3 cts Sexual Battery of a Minor Child, 1 ct Battery.

    Background: Boise Police received information last June regarding Gunther and two teenage female victims. After an investigation by Boise Police detectives, Gunther is accused of sexual battery involving the females juveniles during several occasions between January and June of this year. Detectives found the crimes occurred at different locations, including homes in the Boise area. The female victims and Gunther were acquainted with each other. The battery charge stems from an alleged injury that one of the victims suffered during one of the sexual battery incidents. 

    According to authorities in Canyon County, Gunther is currently in ISCI in felony injury to a child charges out of Canyon County.
