10-31-07 Detectives Say possibility of Additional Victims in Lewd Conduct Case

10-31-07 Detectives Say possibility of Additional Victims in Lewd Conduct Case

Boise, Oct. 31, 2007 - Boise Police Detectives are asking anyone who may have more information about a suspect just arrested for Lewd Conduct to please contact them through Crime Stoppers.

Arrested: John A Wissel, 63, Mountain Home

Charged: Attempted Lewd Conduct with a Minor Under 16

Background: Wissel was arrested yesterday after he arrived at a location in Boise expecting to meet and have sex with a 12 year old girl. Instead, the suspect was met by Boise Police Detectives.

Detectives, posing as intermediaries, set up the meeting with Wissel after they received information he was searching for young girls to have sexual relations with. As a result of the police investigation, detectives also learned that Wissel may have indeed victimized other young girls in the Treasure Valley area in the past. Detectives at this time do not have solid leads on who those possible victims may be.

Officers are asking anyone with information that may be helpful to this case to please call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS. Tips can remain anonymous.
