10-01-07 Homicide Investigation
UPDATE: Oct. 1, 2007 - Boise Police are ending their search at a Boise home suspected of being the scene of a homicide some 27 years ago. Boise Police detectives, crime scene investigators and crime lab personnel are expected to leave the home on the 4700 blk of Clark Street by early this afternoon. They have been searching the home since noon Friday with assistance from the Ada County Coroner's Office.
Late Friday afternoon, Judy Gough, 61 of Nampa was arrested and charged with 1st degree murder in connection with the case. The family that lives in the Clark Street home has been questioned by police. Gough continues to be the only suspect in the homicide and no further charges are pending at this time.
Several items of evidence have been removed from the scene.
Boise Police detectives have been working closely with Ada County Prosecutors on this case. Gough was arraigned on the murder charge Friday and is currently in the custody of the Ada County Jail. Please refer to the courts or the prosecutors office for further developments.
The victims identity has not been released by police pending positive identification. Additional information may be forthcoming from the Ada County Coroner's Office.
UPDATE: Sept. 29, 2007 - Homicide suspect Judy Gough has been moved to the Ada County Jail. Gough was arraigned late Friday in Canyon County and relocated to Ada County.
Gough was also arraigned on an additional felony, Use of a Firearm.

UPDATE: Boise, Sept. 28, 2007,4:10 p.m. - Boise Police have arrested a 61 year old Nampa woman and charged her with 1st degree murder in connection with a homicide police believe occurred approx. 27 years ago at her former home in Boise.
Arrested: Judy Gough, 61, Nampa
Charged: 1st Degree murder, booked into the Canyon County Jail.
Gough was taken into custody earlier today near her Nampa home. She is currently in custody in the Canyon County Jail. Detectives say Gough is the only suspect in the case at this time.
Boise Police, with the assistance of the Ada County Coroner, continue to search Gough's former home, 4705 Clark Street for evidence of the crime as the investigation continues.
Victim information will be released by the Ada County Coroner as further evidence in uncovered and family is notified.
Boise, Sept. 28, 2007, 2:30 p.m. - Boise Police are currently searching a home on the 4700 blk of Clark Street investigating information on a possible homicide that may have occurred many years ago.
It is very early in this complex investigation. At this time, Boise Police are able to release the following:
Information came into Boise Police recently about a possible homicide that occurred some years ago. Detectives began a methodical investigation that is continuing. Information developed during the course of the investigation led detectives to believe evidence of the crime may exist at the home on Clark Street.
A search warrant was served on the Clark Street home shortly after noon today. Detectives and other experts are searching inside and outside the home for any evidence that may exist of the crime. At the time the search warrant was served, no one was home.
No arrests have been made at this time. This is very much the early stages on an ongoing investigation.
Detectives expect to be searching the home at least through the weekend.
Detectives say this case is isolated and not connected to any other case that has been under investigation.
Officers say they do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the community at this time.
Currently neighborhood streets are open to traffic as the officers search the home, detectives request media stay off Nash Street and allow only residents to drive on Nash between Marvin and Clark Streets. For operational purposes and convenience of the neighborhood, officers would appreciate the media's cooperation very much.
A media briefing is tentatively scheduled for 3:15 p.m. today at the corner of Clark & Nash (one block north of Overland, east of Orchard) The media staging area for briefings will be on Nash Street north of Clark.
