Boise, Sept. 28, 2007, 2:30 p.m. - Boise Police are currently searching a home on the 4700 blk of Clark Street investigating information on a possible homicide that may have occurred many years ago.

It is very early in this complex investigation. At this time, Boise Police are able to release the following:

Information came into Boise Police recently about a possible homicide that occurred some years ago. Detectives began a methodical investigation that is continuing. Information developed during the course of the investigation led detectives to believe evidence of the crime may exist at the home on Clark Street.

A search warrant was served on the Clark Street home shortly after noon today. Detectives and other experts are searching inside and outside the home for any evidence that may exist of the crime. At the time the search warrant was served, no one was home.

No arrests have been made at this time. This is very much the early stages on an ongoing investigation.

Detectives expect to be searching the home at least through the weekend.

Detectives say this case is isolated and  not connected to any other case that has been under investigation.

Officers say they do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the community at this time.

Currently neighborhood streets are open to traffic as the officers search the home, detectives request media stay off Nash Street and allow only residents to drive on Nash between Marvin and Clark Streets. For operational purposes and convenience of the neighborhood, officers would appreciate the media's cooperation very much.

A media briefing is tentatively scheduled for 3:15 p.m. today at the corner of Clark & Nash (one block north of Overland, east of Orchard) The media staging area for briefings will be on Nash Street north of Clark.

A follow up media briefing is tentatively scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. If the time changes, you will be notified.
