Officer Involved Traffic Accident
Boise, July 23, 2007 - Boise Police and Idaho State Police are investigating a traffic accident involving an on duty Boise Police Officer.
What Happened: At approx. 10:38 p.m. Sunday night officers were running Code 3 (lights and sirens) to assist after a report of a fight with a weapon. The Officer involved was north on Capital approaching Myrtle with his lights and siren on. Traffic eastbound on Myrtle had stopped for the emergency vehicle. However, one vehicle in a center lane entered the intersection apparently with the green light and collided with the patrol car.
Both the officer and the driver of the other car, a woman (the only occupant of the vehicle) were hospitalized after the accident. The officer was treated and released. The woman remains hospitalized with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.
At this time, the accident remains under investigation.
