Woman Arrested in Retail Fraud Scheme

Woman Arrested in Retail Fraud Scheme

Boise, Jan. 5, 2007 – Nampa Police, working with Boise Police and investigators from Costco and eBay have arrested a woman in connection with, what investigators believe to be a $20,000 retail fraud scheme.

Arrested: Wendy Rebecca Peterson, 34, Nampa

Charged: Grand Theft, Burglary

Background: Boise Police began investigating this case about a month ago while investigating a similar but unrelated case (see news release dated Dec. 26, 2006 at www.boisepolice.org). Each case involved items being stolen from Costco, both Nampa and Boise stores, and being re-sold on eBay.

Peterson is suspected of stealing some $20,000 worth of items, including dozens of high- priced external hard drives and re-selling them on eBay over the past year. Current charges are connected to $3,800 worth of items stolen from the Boise Costco Dec. 30th.
