Help Take The Plunge For A Cause!
Boise, January 10, 2007 - Officer Tim Beaudoin and the Boise and Meridian Firefighters "taking the plunge" were cold but successful! The Special Olympics reports donations made in the name of the event totaled their goal of $25,000!!! Thank you!!!
Boise, January 4th, 2007 - In conjunction with Walmart and Walmart employees, Officer Tim Beaudoin, Boise Fire Department Firefighter Lance Sellers, and others, will be getting wet every hour to raise awareness and money for the athletes of the Idaho Special Olympics starting at 2:00 PM this afternoon.
These individuals will be jumping into a pool of icy cold water outside (located in the Walmart Parking lot) once an hour for the next two days as part of the Penguin Plunge. Boise Police and the Boise Fire Department will have emergency vehicles on the scene. At the end of the 48 hours, they will be joined by Walmart employees, Special Olympics athletes, Officers and others in an endeavor to raise money/awareness for Special Olympics Idaho. The final plunge and celebration take place at 2pm on Saturday. Last year a total of $12,500 was raised. This years goal is $25,000.
The public is invited to join and can take part either in a plunge scheduled for Friday at Midnight and/or the 2pm plunge on Saturday. Donations can be made oniline at www.firstgiving.com/PowerPlungers
