Report of Shot Fired

Boise, Oct. 23, 2006, 8:00 a.m. - Boise Police are searching for a man who reportedly fired one shot in a West Boise home early this morning. No one was injured. The man ran when police arrived and has not been located. One woman has been arrested and charged with kidnapping for her role in holding the people inside the home against their will.

What Happened: Officers responded to the call at 2:18 a.m. on the 1900 blk. of Ancestor. Investigators are still piecing together what happened, but at this time witnesses say they opened the door when a woman knocked. The woman had apparently been living at the home for a short time and was expected to come over to collect her belongings to move out. However, a man followed the woman inside the home. The man had a ski mask and a gun. Four to five people were inside the home at the time. Witnesses say the man held and threatened several people and fired off one shot. After the shot was fired, police were called. As officers arrived, the male suspect ran out a back door.

Officers are still trying to locate the suspect and confirm his identity. The woman was questioned and is currently in the Ada County Jail charged with kidnapping (holding others against their will).
