Boy on Bike hit by Car

Update: Oct. 20, 1:50 p.m. - The boy remains hospitalized. The investigation continues with no citations written as of this time.

Boise, October 19th 2006 – Boise Police Officers and Ada County Paramedics were called to the scene of a crash involving a 12 year old boy. At 6:48 am dispatch received a call about a female driver of a sports utility vehicle that struck a boy on a bicycle. The 12 year old was riding his bike north on Owyhee Street near Malad Street in Boise. The driver did not see the boy when she turned east onto Malad St. Paramedics rushed the boy to St. Alphonsus Hospital with life threatening injuries. Boise Police sent the major crash investigation team to the scene. Boise PD also sent the Victim Witness Coordinator to assist with the 29 year old female driver. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
