Arrest in Shooting

Boise, Oct. 24, 2006, 2:00 p.m. - Boise Police have learned that authorities in Gem County have arrested the man wanted for firing a shot inside a Boise home early yesterday.

   Arrested: Joshua A. Ward, 28, last known address - Emmett

    Changed with: Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping, Use of a Firearm in a Felony

    Currently in the Gem County Jail

     Acting on a lead, the Gem County Sheriff's Office, working with officers from Probation and Parole, arrested Ward without incident at the home of a relative just before noon today.

Boise Police appreciate the cooperation and follow up from both Gem County and Probation and Parole in taking into custody a man believed to be armed and dangerous.

Background: Ward is accused of entering a West Boise home early yesterday, accompanying a female, face covered with a ski mask, and holding several people captive for a short period of time until police arrived. He then fled out the back door of the house (See release dated Oct. 23: Report of Shot Fired). Police do have in custody a pick up truck believed to belong to Ward found at the scene.

He then fled out the back door of the house (See release dated Oct. 23: Report of Shot Fired). Detectives say there had been a dispute between the female involved and the residents of the home. Police do have in custody a pick up truck believed to belong to Ward found at the scene. The female, 20 year old Amber Young was arrested Monday morning and charged with kidnapping for her role in the incident.
