Arrest Made in Vehicular Manslaughter

Boise, Sept. 13, 2006 - Boise Police overnight arrested a man for Drunk Driving in the area of Parkcenter and River Run. As they made the traffic stop, the officers found the driver was wanted for felony vehicular manslaughter in connection with a deadly car accident last April.

     Arrested: Craig A. Phillips, 26, Boise

      Charged: Felony Vehicular Manslaughter, Driving Under the Influence, Driving without Privileges

    Background: On April 4, 2006, at approx. 1:42 a.m. a car collided with a utility pole on Franklin Rd just east of Five Mile. The passenger in the car was killed in the accident (see the news release dated April 4, 2006 at www.boisepolice.org).

On August 2, 2006, after investigating and presenting the case to the Ada County Prosecutors Office, a warrant was issued for Craig A. Phillips for Vehicular Manslaughter.
