Free Fishing Day
Boise, June 8, 2006 – The Boise Police Association would like to invite the public and the media to McDevitt Pond this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon to pick up a pole and go fishing - for free!
BPA volunteers, in conjunction with Officers from the Idaho Dept. of Fish & Game will be at the pond assisting kids and families learn the fun and finer points of fishing.
The BPA bought hundreds of large-sized fish to stock the pond in anticipation of a large crowd Saturday and give anglers a little better luck. The money to buy the fish came from the annual BPD Fishing Tournament last month. Thanks to ARK Fisheries of Hagerman who also donated fish for the cause.
“This is a fun event every year,” said Dennis Tolan, President of the Boise Police Association.
“Fishing can really bring families together and our volunteers love to share our enthusiasm for fishing with the kids and families that come out to the pond to fish for free!”
