Enticement Arrest

Boise, March 1, 2006 – Boise Police have arrested a man wanted for Enticement of a Child. Officers arrested the man yesterday (Tuesday, Feb. 28) at his home near Cole & Northview.

Arrested: John Robert Leach, 30 of Boise.

Charges: Enticement of Chidren

What Happened: Officers believe Leach is the man who tried to entice a child into his car the afternoon of Feb. 16th behind the businesses on the southwest corner of Cole & Ustick. According to the victim, a 14 year old female, a man drove along side her as she walked home from school, and made comments to her about her appearance and asked if she dated older men. The man also passed the girl a note with personal information about himself.

Detectives say the victim was able to provide them a very good description of the suspect and his vehicle that helped in their investigation.

Leach was driving a 1993 black Mitsubishi Eclipse, partially spray painted gray.

Detectives say the suspect or suspect vehicle description does not match any other cases of child enticement currently under investigation in Boise City.

Please note, these cases also include reports of suspicious vehicles or subjects that the reporting party felt might be a threat to children. 22 cases of possible enticement were reported in 2005, 18 in 2004.
