Bank Robbery Fairview and Westland
Boise, Feb 10th, 2006 – Boise, Officers are currently searching for a suspect involved in the armed robbery of a Wells Fargo bank on Fairview and Westland.
The incident took place approximately 1:30 PM this afternoon. A suspect walked into the bank and displayed a handgun. The suspect then fired a shot. Although initially the report may have indicated 2 shots, it now appears that a ricochet may have made it appear as though two shots had been fired. One shot was actually fired. No one was injured. Witnesses say the suspect then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Witnesses believe the money was
placed in a purple or red bag. The suspect, was seen on foot as he exited the building.
Other citizens reported seeing a red pickup driving erratically at a high rate of speed from the parking lot. That vehicle was later located behind a business on the North East corner of Fairview and Cole. Shortly after the robbery officers believe they located the suspects vehicle behind Officers believe the suspect may have fled that location on foot.
The suspect is described as a white male adult in his 20's or 30's. He may be 5'5 or 5'6 weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark ski mask, dark sweater, dark jacket and dark pants. The suspect was carrying a red or purple bag.
cole road is still closed between fairview and poplar. People in businesses and homes are allowed to get in and out.
