K9 Veterinarian Check

Boise, January 27, 2006 – Boise Police K9 handlers will receive training next Monday on how to give emergency care to their dogs if they are hurt or injured while on the job.

Media is invited to join the K9 unit in this training, and see how officers can prepare to treat their dogs who may be injured doing a suspect search, a suspect apprehension, or may ingest narcotics during a drug search.

Dr. Malone of the Mountain View Pet Hospital will provide the training to the K9 team.

Dr. Malone has assisted the BPD K9 unit for the past 10 years.
